CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Delbert C. Kennedy, 71, of Chaffee died Monday, April 29, 2002, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
He was born April 26, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, son of Delbert Shirrell and Ora Hope Kennedy. He and Peggy Moore were married Jan. 20, 1979, at Fairdealing, Mo.
Kennedy lived in the Cape Girardeau area most of his life. He was a laborer with Union Local 282 and Craftsman International Union for 28 years.
Survivors include his wife of Allenville, Mo.; five sons, Michael Kennedy of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Matthew Kennedy of Moberly, Mo., James Thomas of Cape Girardeau, Jon Thomas of Doniphan, Mo., Jason Thomas of Jackson, Mo.; three daughters, Hope Huey of Chaffee, Patty Dugger of Poplar Bluff, Terry Thiele of Cape Girardeau; his mother of Chaffee; a sister, Norma Stidham of Rockview, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, and three brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. C.B. Stidham officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.
