SEDGEWICKVILLE -- Delaphine Thompson, 72, of Sedgewickville, died Tuesday, March 3, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 12, 1919, at Portageville, daughter of Charles and Amy Carnahan Johnson. She married Merrill Thompson May 14, 1936. He died Sept. 12, 1983.
The Thompsons moved to this area in 1977 from Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Little Whitewater Baptist Church and Critesville Extension Club.
Survivors include seven sons, Robert Thompson of Oak Ridge, Billy Thompson of Perryville, James Thompson of Sedgewickville, Raymond Thompson of Cordova, Tenn., Rev. David Thompson of Pocahontas, Gary Thompson of Memphis, Merrill Thompson of Marble Hill; five daughters, Ruth Miller of Patton, Patricia Faircloth of Valdosta, Ga., Betty Brown of Nashville, Tenn., Judith Sproles of Byhalia, Miss., Linda McBride of Morehead City, N.C.; two brothers, Robert Johnson of Belleville, Ill., John Johnson of Collinsville, Ill.; a sister, Lora Crites of St. Louis; 28 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Little Whitewater Church. The Revs. Dan Upchurch and Donny Ford will officiate, with burial in Thompson Cemetery enar Gordonville.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Patton after 4 p.m. today.
