DEXTER, Mo. -- Dee Eugene Griffin, 87, departed this life Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Dexter, the son of the late Dee Ves and Florence Corene Horn Griffin. He was united in marriage to Lois Crow in Bernie on July 15, 1958. She survives in their home in Dexter.
Dee served his country in the U.S. Air Force, having retired after 24 years. He then worked for U.S. Postal Service for 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Bernie, Missouri, and a resident of Dexter.
Other survivors include a son, Mark D. (Diane) Griffin of Wylie, Texas; a daughter, Diane (Scott) Siebert of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Dorman Griffin of Valrico, Florida, Doyle Griffin of Bernie and Dale Griffin of Dexter; two sisters, Dorothy Burks of Dexter and Donis Barker of Arnold, Missouri; three grandchildren, Griffin, Garrett and Mallory Siebert; and other relatives and many friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Delma Williams and Doris Bowman.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in Bernie Cemetery.
