Deborah Fall Myers, 63, of Oak Ridge passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at her home after a short fight with cancer.
She was born Sept. 23, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Jack Lee and Carole Jo Crites Byrd. She and David L. Myers were married July 3, 1970, in the former Oak Ridge Methodist Church.
Deborah was a 1972 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and received a bachelor's degree from Southeast Missouri State University. She was a music educator since 1983 and taught 23 years at Meadow Heights High School in Patton, Missouri, retiring as music director in May 2016. She was a faithful member of New Salem Methodist Church near Daisy since 1994.
Loving survivors include her husband of 46 years, David of Oak Ridge; two daughters, Jennifer (John) Dennis of Cape Girardeau and Summer (Scott) Aufdenberg of Jackson; her parents, Jack and Carole Byrd of Oak Ridge; three sisters, Carole (Brad) Sherman of Williamsburg, Iowa, Lucy (Randy) Meyer of Biehle, Missouri, and Lisa (Brent) Crites of Jackson; five grandchildren, Samuel and Colton Unnerstall, Allie Aufdenberg and Isabella and Hudson Dennis; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. today in Chapel A of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steven Koerner officiating. Interment will be in New Salem Cemetery near Daisy.
The family would like to extend their greatest thanks to Saint Francis Hospice for the loving care and compassion during Deborah's battle with cancer.
