Debby Abney, 69, of Burfordville, formerly of Boss, Missouri, passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 2, 1952, in Desloge, Missouri, to William H. and Marie I. Buxton Bailey. She and Danny Abney were married Dec. 18, 1979. He survives.
Debby was a graduate of Viburnum (Missouri) C-4 High School. She received her cosmetology license from Stage One Beauty School in Cape Girardeau. She owned and operated Deb's Boutique in Flat River, Missouri, and later in Viburnum.
The family moved to the Jackson area in the mid-1980s, where Debby owned and operated TBI Video on Highway 72 in Jackson. She also worked for the Maevers family at Super Video and Main Street Lanes, and most recently worked in the cafeteria of Orchard Elementary School in Jackson.
Loving survivors include her husband of 42 years, Danny Abney of Burfordville; two daughters, Heather (Layton) Beggs of Jackson and Dawn (Kevin) Zoellner of Friedheim; a grandson, Lance Cpl. Bailey Beggs of Jackson; three granddaughters, Morgan (Lance) Hoffman and Clara Beggs of Jackson and Hadlee Zoellner of Friedheim; three siblings, Kathy (Don) Jones of Columbia, Missouri; Danny (Elaine) Bailey of St. Roberts, Missouri; and Kenny (Judy) Bailey of Japan; and the siblings of her husband, Vickie (Mark) Mungle of Fruitland, Lanny (Roberta) Abney of Davisville, Missouri, and Rick Abney of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Waylin Zoellner; her parents; two infant siblings; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harvey Leonard "Dick" and Verla Leona Miner Abney.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to service time Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will conduct the funeral service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Boss Cemetery in Boss, Missouri.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Ronald McDonald House.
