Walter Dean Meinz, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born March 23, 1939, in Cape Girardeau to John and Bessie Smith Meinz.
He and Judy Ann Heisserer were married April 16, 1966, at St. Mary's Cathedral.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Dean was an active member of Cape Girardeau Elks.
He enjoyed fishing, grilling, spending time with his family and sports. He was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He was a sales representative for Keebler for more than 30 years. During retirement, he worked at Quality Car Wash.
Dean was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Meinz of Cape Girardeau, and son, Jon D. (Betsey) Meinz of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will follow at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
