Dean Fulbright

Velma Dean "Deanie" Fulbright, 91, of Jackson, formerly of Marble Hill, Missouri, went to her heavenly rest Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 25, 1930, in Bessville, Missouri, daughter of Jessie Odell and Vallie Devenport. She and Sylvester Clyde Fulbright were united in marriage April 11, 1948. Clyde preceded her in death March 15, 2010.

Dean spent much of her life as a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening and working on their farm for many years.

Though she never had children, she loved three of her nieces and their spouses as her own.

Survivors include nieces, Kay (Donnie) Robins, Marsha (Joe) Johnston and Carolyn (Doug) Davis of Jackson; sister, Doris Fulbright of Jackson; sister-in-law, Velda (Cecil) Cook of Edwardsville, Illinois; nephews, Terry (Pam) Cook of Edwardsville, the Rev. Clint (Judy) Cook of Springfield, Illinois, Darrel (Melissa) Devenport of Marble Hill and Larry (Kim) Devenport of Leopold, Missouri; nieces, Connie (Mack) Morris of Kissimmee, Florida, and Judy (Leonard) Fulbright of Marble Hill.

Dean was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Wilma Idell Williams; and brother, Jessie Darrel Devenport.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral will be at noon today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.

The family has requested that masks be worn at all times.
