D.C. WELBORN

EAST PRAIRIE -- D.C. Welborn, 71, of East Prairie, died Friday, May 17, 1991, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born April 9, 1920, in Lawrence County, Tenn., son of William David and Annie Welborn.

On Feb. 24, 1948, he married Jauine Belew. She died Sept. 10, 1985.

He lived most his life in Mississippi County, where he was a retired carpenter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie, and a life member of the SEMO Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 57 in Sikeston. He served in the Army in World War II.

Survivors are one daughter, Sharon Welborn Ray, East Prairie, and one brother, James Welborn, Westwood, Calif. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Friends may call at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie until time of services today.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. the Shelby Funeral Chapel with Brother George White officiating. Burial will be in the Oddfellows Cemetery near Charleston.
