Dayton C. Hahs, 75, of Olathe, Kan., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Olathe.

He was born Dec. 1, 1929, at Millersville, son of Glenn and Verna Moore Hahs. He married the former Lois J. Kaufmann.

Mr. Hahs worked in law enforcement and later in tire sales. He was an avid sportsman, Boy Scout leader, and a dedicated member of Grace United Methodist Church first in Cape Girardeau and later in Olathe.

He served in the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Buddy and Dale Hahs of Olathe; two brothers, Gene Hahs of Cape Girardeau, Kenneth Wayne Hahs of Millersville; a sister, Jo Anna Jones of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; five grandchildren, Ryan Hahs of Lawrence, Kan., Emily Waters of Overland Park, Kan., Adam Hahs of Lawrence, Noah and Quinn Hahs of Overland Park.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Moon officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.
