David Wayne Williams, 63, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Dec. 7, 1958, in Cape Girardeau to David Sylvester Williams and Jacqueline Gateley Martin. He and Donna McGill were married Feb. 19, 1993, in Jackson.

David was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving six years aboard a submarine.

He worked at Best One Tire.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He loved playing softball and bowling.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Williams of Cape Girardeau; mother, Jacqueline (Eugene) Martin of Scott City; son, David D. Williams of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Kristin (Garrett Dykes) Demyan of Paducah, Kentucky, and Christy Williams and Rachael Williams, both of Scott City; mother-in-law, Carolyn (Kenny) Wachter of Jackson; brother, Danny (Melody) Williams of Glen Allen, Missouri; two stepbrothers, Ricky (Donna) Martin of Jackson and Larry (Liz) Martin of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Karen Gilliam of Paragould, Arkansas, and Crystal Mansker of Perryville, Missouri; two stepsisters, Beverly Lair of Brownwood, Missouri, and Darlene (Rick) Kinder of Cape Girardeau.

David was preceded in death by his father, father-in-law, a brother and a nephew.

There will be no visitation.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Gary Brothers officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to be made out to Ford and Sons Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
