David Lee Sample Sr., 71, of Scott City passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at his home.
He was born Jan. 19, 1943, in Sedgewickville, Missouri, son of Charles David and Mable E. Baker Sample. He and Betty Gail Pryor were married March 1, 2010. She passed away Nov. 4, 2010.
David had been a sheet metal worker at McDonnell Douglas. He was a member of Patton Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, David Lee Sample Jr. of Advance, Missouri; a daughter, Sharon Steffes of Sedgewickville; a brother, Charles "Edward" Sample of Athens, Alabama; a sister, Laura Inman of Marquand, Missouri; two grandchildren, Curtis and Christopher Braswell; and a special friend, Betty Cowhoun of Kelso, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sedgewickville.
