David Reid

GLENN ALLEN, Mo. -- David Reid, 78, of Glen Allen passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 19, 1942, in St. Louis, son of Leo and Freda Johnson Reid.

David worked for Erlbacher Equipment in Cape Girardeau as a backhoe operator for many years and retired from Eastern Missouri Industry in Jackson.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Sandy (William) Brinkopf of Gordonville; a son, Brent (Crystal) Reid of Jackson; four grandchildren, Amber and Autumn Reid and Tyler and Nick Brinkopf; a sister, Carol (Clinton) Detjen of Perryville, Missouri; two brothers, Terry Reid of Perryville and William Reid of St. Louis; and his girlfriend, Nedra Peters of Glen Allen.

David was preceded in death by parents; three sisters, Sue, Betty and Pauline; and six brothers, Howard, Paul, J.R., Bob, Donald and Ralph.

There will be a private family memorial service at the columbarium at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
