David R. Seyer, 52, of Clarmont, Fla., died Tuesday, June 1, 1999 in Chula Vista, Calif. He was born June 9, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, son of August and Minnie Menz Seyer. He and Linda Decker were married Dec. 7, 1968, at New Hamburg, Mo. Seyer was a graduate of Kelly High School at Benton. He resided at Fort Walton Beach, Fla., (coming from Cape Girardeau) for 17 years, and has lived in Clarmont, Fla. for the past year...

David R. Seyer, 52, of Clarmont, Fla., died Tuesday, June 1, 1999 in Chula Vista, Calif.

He was born June 9, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, son of August and Minnie Menz Seyer. He and Linda Decker were married Dec. 7, 1968, at New Hamburg, Mo.

Seyer was a graduate of Kelly High School at Benton. He resided at Fort Walton Beach, Fla., (coming from Cape Girardeau) for 17 years, and has lived in Clarmont, Fla. for the past year.

He was a professional musician, singer and songwriter. Dave played music and made people smile up until the day he died. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Clarmont. Seyer was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Scott Seyer of O'Fallon, Ill., Jason Seyer of Utah; a daughter, Shelli Chinlund of Narava Beach, Fla.; three brothers, Jim Seyer of Dutchtown, Marvin and Don Seyer of Chaffee; two sisters: Geneva Essner and Marie Elfrink of New Hamburg; three granddaughters: Stefanie Seyer, Lindsey and Briana Chinlund. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ralph Seyer.

Friends may call at Kurfiss Funeral Home in Clarmont after 5 p.m., Sunday. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 7, 1999 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
