VANDUSER, Mo. -- David Monroe Pullen, 58, of Vanduser died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Ill. He was born April 13, 1948, in Advance, Mo., son of Norris T. and Annie Marie Bryant Pullen. He and Louise Connell were married July 23, 1983...

VANDUSER, Mo. -- David Monroe Pullen, 58, of Vanduser died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Ill.

He was born April 13, 1948, in Advance, Mo., son of Norris T. and Annie Marie Bryant Pullen. He and Louise Connell were married July 23, 1983.

Pullen served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after 29 years of serving as a rural development specialist. He was a former pastor of Christ Sanctuary Church of God in Christ in Bell City, Mo., and was a member of the Christ Church of the Heartland in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife, Louise, of Vanduser; five brothers, Eugene Pullen, Bobby Pullen and the Rev. Elisha Pullen, all of Bell City, Freddie Pullen and John Pullen, both of Cape Girardeau; and two sisters, Martha Pullen Bobo of Sikeston, Mo., and Naomi Pullen Ward of Dellwood, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Church of the Heartland.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Zachery Strong officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military rites.

Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston was in charge of arrangements.
