EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for David Neal Housman, 36, of New Madrid, was held Monday at Shelby Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Raymond Hannah officiated, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near here.
Housman, formerly of East Prairie, was found Saturday in Mud Ditch near New Madrid. He had been missing since a boating accident with his father Nov. 21, 1990.
He was born March 24, 1954, in Mississippi County, son of Francis "Whitey" and Martha E. Dickerson Housman.
Housman was a journeyman mechanic with Associated Electric in New Madrid. He was a member of Sikeston Eagles and IBEW Local.He moved to New Madrid in 1982 from East Prairie.
Survivors include a son, Derek Housman of the home; his mother of East Prairie; three brothers, Delbert and Bryan Housman of Sikeston, Keith Housman of Mounds, Ill.; a sister, Vicky Johnston of Cape Girardeau; stepmother, Loretta Housman of East Prairie, and fiancee, Linda Wilson of New Madrid.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Housman.
