Funeral for David Lester Miller of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Donny Ford will officiate. Burial will be in Jonesboro City Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ill.
Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Miller, 66, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur.
He was born Aug. 9, 1933, at Wolf Lake, Ill., son of Lester Leroy and Mary Margaret Goyette Miller. He and Gloria D. Baggett were married in 1969 at Mehlville. She died Dec. 12, 1997.
Miller owned and operated Poly-fab in St. Louis. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1997. He attended Meramec Community College in St. Louis and Southeast Missouri State University.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his mother of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, Martin Wingerter of Houston, Texas; four stepdaughters, Patricia Brown, Ramona Beall and Laura Windle of St. Louis, Cindy Bagy of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Melvin Miller of Orlando; a sister, Patsy Lewis of Oklahoma City, Okla.; nine stepgrandchildren; and nine great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and a son.
