Funeral Mass for William David Lewis of Cape Girardeau was held July 17 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid, Mo. Msgr. Mike Swalina officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.

Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid was in charge of arrangements.

Lewis, 47, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at his home.

He was born Feb. 15, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, son of William Robert and Marjorie Bierschwal Lewis.

Lewis was a maintenance worker at Southeast Missouri State University.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1983-88.

Survivors include his mother of New Madrid; three sisters, Marianne Clinch of Phoenix, Ariz., Jayne Dees and Emily Carlisle of Lilbourn, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father.
