David Hill, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Southeast Hospital. He was born July 3, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, to Russell and Mona Gregory Hill Sr. David graduated from Central High School. He loved animals and spending time outdoors. He was greatly loved by his family and friends. He was always the life of the party...

David Hill, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born July 3, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, to Russell and Mona Gregory Hill Sr.

David graduated from Central High School. He loved animals and spending time outdoors. He was greatly loved by his family and friends. He was always the life of the party.

He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Survivors include a sister, Karen Cook of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Richard Hill of San Antonio, Charlie Hill of Cape Girardeau and Michael Hill; many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces; and a great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew; other relatives and many friends. He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Nicole.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Patricia Stemmler and Rebecca Shackelford; and a brother, Russell Hill Jr.

Friends and family are invited to gather from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. today.

Crain Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
