David Henry Hengst, 77, of Egypt Mills died Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 11, 1937, to Jessie and Catherine Sinn Hengst. He and Betty Lange were married Oct. 19, 1958, at Egypt Mills.
Dave was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills, Cape Girardeau Eagles Aerie and Operating Engineers 513 52 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hengst of Egypt Mills; a son, Rick Hengst of Egypt Mills; a daughter, Lisa Hengst of Perryville, Missouri; a brother, Chester Hengst of Egypt Mills; a sister, Juanita Exler Miller of Egypt Mills; five grandchildren, Josh Hengst, Megan Hengst, Clay Prevallet, Derrick Hengst and Clint Prevallet; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills, with the Rev. Barry L. Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Church at Egypt Mills, or to the church cemetery fund.
