David Dee Ellis, 46, of Scott City died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at his home.
He was born March 7, 1967, in Dexter, Mo., to Illa Dee and Myra L. Cates Ellis.
David was a lineman with Charter Cable Co. and was previously a police officer with the Scott City Police Department. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his mother, Myra Ellis of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Christina Ellis of Paducah, Ky., Lacey (Brian) Greer of Chaffee, Mo., and Kelsey (Keith) Brown of Cape Girardeau; and three grandchildren, Nataleigh, Kolten and Mollie.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors.
