David E. Masterson, 59, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 1991 at John Pershing Veterans Hospital in Polar Bluff. He was born May 3, 1932 in Sedalia, the son of John and Clara Gens Masterson. He is survived by his wife, Mary Masterson, Cape Girardeau; five sons, Wesley and Bobby Joe Masterson, both of Cape Girardeau; Ronald Masterson, Chaffee, Larry and Robbie Maglone, both of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Mary Ann Gonzales, Cape Girardeau, Vonda Austin, Racine, Wis., Cathy Overbeck, Gordonville; one brother, Thomas Masterson, Phoenix; three sisters, Mrs. ...

David E. Masterson, 59, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 1991 at John Pershing Veterans Hospital in Polar Bluff.

He was born May 3, 1932 in Sedalia, the son of John and Clara Gens Masterson.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Masterson, Cape Girardeau; five sons, Wesley and Bobby Joe Masterson, both of Cape Girardeau; Ronald Masterson, Chaffee, Larry and Robbie Maglone, both of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Mary Ann Gonzales, Cape Girardeau, Vonda Austin, Racine, Wis., Cathy Overbeck, Gordonville; one brother, Thomas Masterson, Phoenix; three sisters, Mrs. Glen Edwards, East Prairie, Mrs. Ernest McBride, Trask, Mo., Mrs. Chloe Hatfield, Mountain View; 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Two sisters preceded him in death.

He moved to Cape Girardeau from Mountain View and has worked for Kelly Transportation for 30 years. He also did maintenance and construction work for Landmark Company.

He was a member of the U.S. Army and a member of the VFW. He was also of the Baptist faith.

Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. J.C. Mattox officiating.

Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery with a graveside service by the VFW.
