ADVANCE, Mo. -- David Lowell Cummins, 69, of Panama City Beach, Fla., formerly of Advance, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at Barnes Jewish West County Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Oct. 29, 1936, in Cape Girardeau, son of Albert "Lowell" and Sevella Jennings Cummins. He and Wanda Lee Richards were married July 14, 1983, in Cape Girardeau.
Mr. Cummins was president of the Bank of Advance 23 years, retiring in 1992. He moved to Florida 11 years ago from Advance.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jo David Cummins of Mount Vernon, Ill.; a stepson, Kenneth Carlton of Advance; a stepdaughter, Kristen Robins of Advance; two brothers, Jerry Cummins of Scott City, Robert Cummins of Jefferson City, Mo.; a sister, Gail Crader of Perryville, Mo.; six grandchildren, Cade and Gage Cummins, Austin Carlton, Autumn Burrows, Chase and Dakota Robins; and a great-grandchild, Braylen Burrows.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Lance Carlton.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with Spencer Cummins officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
