JACKSON -- David Lee Clem, 57, formerly of Jackson, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1997, at the home of a sister in Kokomo, Ind., following a brief illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1940, near Bringhurst, Ind., son of Fred and Mary Sandifur Clem. He was a 1959 graduate of Flora, Ind., High School, and served in the U.S. Army from 1961-64...

JACKSON -- David Lee Clem, 57, formerly of Jackson, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1997, at the home of a sister in Kokomo, Ind., following a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 1, 1940, near Bringhurst, Ind., son of Fred and Mary Sandifur Clem. He was a 1959 graduate of Flora, Ind., High School, and served in the U.S. Army from 1961-64.

Clem lived in Jackson 21 years, returning to Indiana in January 1996. He had worked at Lenco, and was a member of a Baptist church in Jackson. He was employed most recently by Clem's FAB Machine Shop in Miami, Ind.

Survivors include his mother of Zephyrhills, Fla.; two sisters, Roberta Anderson of Kokomo, Barbara Thompson of Lafayette, Ind.; three brothers, Pat Wallace of Ft. Myers, Fla., Jack Clem of Miami, Ind., and Fred Clem Jr, of Edwardsburg, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Courtland Avenue Friends Church in Kokomo. Burial will be in Ball Hill Cemetery near Cutler, Ind.
