SIKESTON, Mo. -- David Bailey, 64, of St. Charles, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001. He was born Oct. 22, 1936, in Sikeston, son of Roger A. and Lois McCord Bailey. He and Charlotte Elizabeth Henry were married in 1960. Bailey was a 1954 graduate of Sikeston High School, attended Southeast Missouri State University, and was a graduate of the University of Missouri. He served two years in the U.S. Army...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- David Bailey, 64, of St. Charles, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001.

He was born Oct. 22, 1936, in Sikeston, son of Roger A. and Lois McCord Bailey. He and Charlotte Elizabeth Henry were married in 1960.

Bailey was a 1954 graduate of Sikeston High School, attended Southeast Missouri State University, and was a graduate of the University of Missouri. He served two years in the U.S. Army.

He and his wife owned Bailey and Bailey Insurance and Real Estate in Sikeston. He was a member of First Christian Church, where he had been a Sunday school teacher, youth group leader and elder. Bailey moved to St. Charles in April 2001.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Michele Bailey of St. Louis; a son, David Bailey Jr. of St. Peters, Mo.; a sister, Mary Barnard of Webster Groves, Mo.; a brother, Roger Bailey Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church.
