Father and son, David and Austin Wadley, both of Jackson, died over the weekend from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
James "David" Wadley, 52, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, and Austin Kyle Wadley, 23, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
David was born July 29, 1964, in Cairo, Illinois, to Priscilla Caywood and James M. "Mike" Wadley.
He was a 1982 graduate of Jackson High School and earned an associate degree from Linn State Technical College in Linn, Missouri.
He and Rhonda Heuring were married July 20, 1991, at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Cape Girardeau. Four children were born to their union, Austin, Trey, Caleb and Eliza.
David was a 30-year employee of Procter & Gamble, currently working as a maintenance planner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and motorcycles.
David's survivors include his wife of 25 years, Rhonda Wadley of Jackson; children, Trey, Caleb and Eliza, all of the home, and Austin, who passed the day after his father; his mother, Priscilla (Paul) Dowdy of Jackson; three siblings, Doug (Ursulla) Wadley, Darin (Beth) Wadley and Debbie (Gabe) Martinez, all of Cape Girardeau; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Jane Heuring of Cape Girardeau; brother-in-law, Rob (Becky) Heuring of Anna, Illinois; sister-in-law, Dana (Tom) Bray of Hernando, Mississippi; and many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his father, Mike Wadley.
Austin was born Nov. 19, 1992, in Cape Girardeau to David and Rhonda Heuring Wadley. He was a 2011 graduate of Jackson High School.
He was an 18-month employee of P&G, currently working as a line technician. Like his father, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and motorcycles.
Austin's survivors include his mother, Rhonda Wadley of Jackson; three siblings, Trey, Caleb and Eliza, all of the home; paternal grandmother, Priscilla (Paul) Dowdy of Jackson; maternal grandparents, Paul and Jane Heuring of Cape Girardeau; his girlfriend, Heather Wilke of Jackson; paternal uncles, Doug (Ursulla) Wadley and Darin (Beth) Wadley, both of Cape Girardeau; paternal aunt, Debbie (Gabe) Martinez of Cape Girardeau; maternal uncle, Rob (Becky) Heuring of Anna; maternal aunt, Dana (Tom) Bray of Hernando; and many cousins.
Austin was preceded in death by his father, James David Wadley; and paternal grandfather, Mike Wadley.
Visitation for both decedents will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 1 p.m. to service time Friday at Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
A joint funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. Mark Anderson and Phil Roop officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Jackson R-2 School Foundation.
