DEXTER -- Funeral for Claude T. "Dave" Davis of Dexter will be held at 10 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter, with the Rev. Phil Warren officiating. Burial will be in Old Bethel Cemetery near Dexter.

Davis, 76, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at Crowley Ridge Care Center.

He was born April 20, 1922, in Patterson, Ga., son of Flemming and Sarah Teston Davis. He and Geri Singleton were married Nov. 27, 1943, at Dexter.

Davis lived at Dexter many years. He retired as a cashier at Boone Supermarket. He was a member of Second General Baptist Church. Davis served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Davis of Kennett; a daughter, Claudia Ryan of Thomasville; two brothers, Thomas Davis of Columbia, S.C., J.C. Davis of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a sister, Peggy Hall of Millersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
