Darrell W. Schuette, 76, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at his home near Jackson.

He was born Nov. 5, 1945, in Cape Girardeau County, to Ernest W. and Minnie E. Conder Schuette. He and Ruth Ann Hunt were married Aug. 7, 1965, at First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Darrell was a graduate of Jackson High School. He received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Missouri.

Darrell was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed riding quarter horses and team roping. When his children were young, he loved to play the basketball game "Taps" with them, and he especially enjoyed attending all the sporting events that his children and grandchildren participated in.

He was a member of the Cape County Cowboy Church in Oak Ridge.

Loving survivors include his wife of nearly 57 years, Ruth Ann Schuette of Jackson; two children, Dan W. (Gloria) Schuette of San Antonio and Shelly R. (Stephen) Daume of Friedheim; four grandchildren, Austen Schuette of San Antonio, Sierra Schuette (Brent Miller) of Austin, Texas, Danielle (John) Ashenbrener of St. Louis and Joshua Daume of Oak Ridge; a sister, E. Jeanette (Larry) Bollinger of Jackson; Ruth's siblings, Bill Joe (the late Norma) Hunt of St. Louis, Martha Hunt of Gordonville; nephews and nieces, Brent (Mary) Bollinger and Becky (Dave) Riney of Jackson, Heather (Bill) Koch of Washington, Missouri, and Rick (Kalli) Hunt of St. Louis; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and Ruth's parents, the Rev. Harry and Bonna Merle Hunt.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Rev. Jim Matthews will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Cape County Cowboy Church.
