Darrell Crawford

Darrell Wayne Crawford, 68, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, May 15, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Oct. 6, 1934, at Campbell, Mo., son of Robert Harold and Lois Inez Barnes Crawford. He and Anna Lee Box were married Nov. 28, 1959, at Second Southern Baptist Church in Malden, Mo.

Mr. Crawford worked 28 years in the engineering department at Procter & Gamble, retiring in 1997.

He had been a member of Lynwood Baptist Church since 1977. He was a deacon, served in the Faith Ministries nine semesters, served on the Teller Committee, Lord's Supper Committee, and was a member of Seekers Life Group where he served as treasurer.

Mr. Crawford served in the U.S. Army from May 3, 1957, to April 25, 1959.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Lee Crawford; a son, Kevin Wayne Crawford; two daughters, Beverly Ann Compas and husband Tim, Teresa Dawn Williams, all of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Carrell Crawford and wife Bonnie of Scott City, Larry Crawford of Overland, Mo.; a sister, Mildred Lowe and husband Jerry of Dayton, Texas; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon and Randy Taylor of Lees Summit, Mo.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua Compas, Emily, Andrew and Katie Williams, all of Cape Girardeau; three uncles and aunts, Norman and Liz Barnes of Spanish Fork, Utah, Odell and Clara Crawford of St. Joseph, Mo., Diamond and Helen Barnes of Thomson, Ga.; an aunt, Amy Sexton of Malden; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, and at Lynwood Baptist Church after 1 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lynwood Baptist Church, with Dr. Derek Staples officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
