MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Darrell D. George, 79, of Woodstock, Ga., formerly of Mound City, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Ga.

His wife, Norma Jean Kepner George, died May 11, 2010, in Marietta.

George served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. May 31 at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City.

Graveside service for Mr. and Mrs. George will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. June 1 at Mound City National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by area veterans organizations and the U.S. Army.
