Darla Rose Kennon, 83, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 18, 1938, in Perryville, Missouri, to Cletus S. and Iva H. Steinbecker Nesslein.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved taking trips to Branson, Missouri.
Darla was owner and secretary of Kennon Construction Co.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son, Leroy Kennon of Perryville; three daughters, Sharon (Keith) Ehlers of Perryville, Karen (John) Huber of Jackson and Amy (Gerry) Jones of Cape Girardeau; daughter-in-law, Linda Kennon; two brothers, Gary (Sue) Nesslein of Prairie Village, Kansas, and Ken (Sue) Nesslein of Perryville; sister, Brenda (Jim) Harold of Walla Walla, Washington; grandchildren, Jeremy (Tiffany) Kennon, Nathan (Kibby) Kennon, Leticia (Jason) Kelley, Brian (Heather) Ehlers, Matthew (Amanda) Huber, Chad (Kyla) Huber, Riley Huber, Jed Jones, William Jones, John Henry Jones, Isabel Jones, Chance (Beth) Thompson, Colby (Ashley) Thompson and Heather Bockman; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Darla was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett H. Kennon; first husband, Harold Graff Jr.; father, Cletus S. Nesslein; stepmother, Cleta F. Nesslein; mother, Iva H. Steinbecker; son, Gary Kennon; and daughter-in-law, Renee Kennon.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jason Hill officiating. Burial will be at Whitewater Christian Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Church of the Nazarene in Cape Girardeau.
