Danny Gene Stratton, 60, of Oak Ridge died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at his home after a long-term illness.
He was born Nov. 10, 1957, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Earl and Wilma Stephens Stratton.
Danny grew up in Cape Girardeau and attended Cape Girardeau Central High School. After graduating, he attended Southeast Missouri State University and then the University of Missouri, receiving degrees in philosophy and sociology. Next, he attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where he received his law degree.
After college, Danny returned to Cape Girardeau and was employed by Procter & Gamble and Show Me Net. He was amazingly skilled at fixing anything mechanical. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his quick wit, his skillfulness at chess and his love for dogs.
He is survived by his brother, Ronnie Stratton of Cape Girardeau, and his son, Alex Crowell of Kansas City, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are asked to gather at 11 a.m. Saturday at Golden Corral in Cape Girardeau for a time of fellowship and celebration of Danny's life.
