Danny Mayfield, 60, of Jackson passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, at his home.
He was born Oct. 21, 1960, in Cape Girardeau, son of Lindell Wayne and Ruth Ann Green Mayfield. He and Teressa Sitzes were married Sept. 12, 1982.
Danny was a 1979 graduate of Woodland High School. He previously worked for Lee-Rowan in Jackson and has been with Procter & Gamble for the past 25 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, bowling and golf. Above all Danny loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
Loving survivors include his wife, Teressa Mayfield of the home; a son, Jason (Jessica) Mayfield, and a daughter, Shayna Purkey, all of Jackson; and seven grandchildren, Kaylynn (Calen) Crites, Bayley, Jesse and Maggie James; Michael, Ryder and Aaryian Purkey.
Also surviving are two brothers, Kevin (Phyllis) Mayfield of Fruitland and Gary (Christine) Mayfield of St. Petersburg, Florida; father-in-law, Mac Miller; two sisters--in--law, Lori Long of Millersville and Cheryl (Kevin) Pruitt of Jackson; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Sitzes of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Sue Miller; maternal grandparents, Robert and Maggie Green; and paternal grandparents, Dayton and Kate Mayfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Culberson officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Crown Hospice.
