Our most beloved Danette Marie Ketcher, 43, of Cape Girardeau lost her four-year, courageous battle with breast cancer and was called home to our Heavenly Father, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Danette was born Aug. 2, 1971, in Cape Girardeau to Daniel and Doris Moore. She and J. Mark Ketcher were married July 19, 1996, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Missouri. She grew up a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and is currently a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Church in Cape Girardeau.
Danette graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1989. She worked at several banks before leaving to become the office manager at the Fireplace Center in Cape Girardeau, where she worked for 19 years. In addition, she managed small businesses, rental properties and was the part-time secretary for Down to Earth Satellite Systems.
Danette lived every day with God and faith as her top priority. She believed that everything was God's will. She attended church every Sunday and all Holy Days. Danette lived her life as God would have wanted her to. She was always so very loving and caring to everyone who knew her. She had a legacy of putting others first and carried that on to her last day, ensuring that everyone was taken care of. She had a strong love for children, and family was the utmost important piece of her world. Danette was known for her great customer service and always being so willing to help others.
She was such a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend to so many.
Although she endured such pain, she never complained throughout the course of her long battle. As many would say, she was one of the strongest individuals they knew. Danette thought the world of her family and was most proud of her four beautiful children.

Danette was always so giving and never expected anything in return. On behalf of Danette, the family would like to express deep gratitude to everyone that has been a part of the fundraisers, gifts, flowers, food, prayers and much love over the past four years. All of your generosity has not gone unnoticed. Danette grew very close with her doctor and medical team at Barnes Jewish Siteman Cancer Center over the last four years. We would like to recognize their astounding care and compassion they provided her and our family. Also, to the medical team and nurses at Saint Francis Medical Center, the care and all of your generosity to Danette and family will never be forgotten. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, there is a special account set up at Montgomery Bank for the children of Mark and Danette Ketcher; checks can be made payable to Mark Ketcher. In addition, Danette had a lifelong love for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, so to honor her legacy, memorial contributions also may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
