Dana Lou Roose was born in Lima, Ohio, Aug. 6, 1943. She was a mother, grandma, sister and cousin. Dana passed away in her home on her son and daughter-in-law's ranch in Burfordville. She is now happily surrounded with family and friends who passed before her.
Dana is survived by Andrew Paul (Becky) Roose, Tate Parker, Tamara Parker, Abby Roose, Larry Aaron (Meachelle) Roose, Dalton (Jacqlyn) Roose, Jezalyn Roose, Judy Hawthorn and Herbert McVicker Jr.
She was preceded in death by Herbert and Hazel McVicker Sr., Dona Lee Fischer, Shirley McVicker, Carol Bishop and Marta McVicker.
Dana retired from Marimor Industries in Lima after 30 years. Her passion was serving the mentally handicapped and she spent all those years doing just that.
Dana enjoyed watching any kind of sports on television including her favorite: Big Time Wrestling. She liked playing card games with family. She also loved doing yard work.
Until she moved to Southeast Missouri to spend time with her two sons and her grandchildren, she put on huge pot luck family gatherings at Christmas time every year. There were dozens of people gathered and more food than all could possibly eat. It was a great joy for her that she looked forward to every year.
Dana will be laid to rest with her twin sister in Ohio in the spring.
