BENTON, Mo. -- Dana D. McCourt, 85 of Benton died Friday, July 2, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 8, 1935, to Ophie and Sara Cougar McCourt. He married Deloma "Jean" Jones on May 16,1964. She preceded him in death March 5, 2015.
He owned and operated D & D Upholstery for 50 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and he loved the word of God, singing and playing the bass guitar.
He is survived by daughters, Lisa (Scott Griffith) Mitchem of Jonesboro, Illinois, Crystal (Todd) Gosche of Commerce, Missouri, and Kathie (Rob) Vian; brother, Delmas McCourt of Vero Beach, Florida; sister, Carolyn Johns of Vero Beach; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a great-grandson on the way.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Dana Dempsey McCourt Jr.; daughters, Karen Skaggs and Pamela Marcolini; and brothers, Bill and Paul McCourt and one grandson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Unity Baptist Cemetery in Benton.
