Dana Sue Ford of Jackson peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

2 Corinthians 5:8: "We are of good courage and confident hope, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord."

Dana is home.

She was born Feb. 21, 1940, in Cape Girardeau County to Wilson "Bill" and Edna Kasting Ford.

She was a graduate of Jackson High School and cosmetology school for manicuring.

Her love for animals was evident to everyone who knew her. She spent most of her time with her two horses, the late April and Su. She stated they were not her whole life, but they made her life whole.

Throughout her life, she worked at Thorngate/Hart, Schaffner Marx, Jackson Hosiery Mill and Lenco Electronics.

Survivors include five sisters, Marge Welker, Martha Winchester, Carla Ford, Ella Pleasant and Barbara (Sam) Sides; a brother, Joe (Melissa) Ford; 15 nieces and nephews, Ronda, Shana, Keippi, Roque, Shane, Mikell, Joel, Ashli, Jaimi, Monica, Todd, Ty, Michell, Robin and Michael.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Ford; a sister, Carol Jane Lamb; and a nephew, Doug Paul.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201, or Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary, 359 Cree Lane, Jackson, MO 63755.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
