CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Dan Heeb, 68, of Chaffee passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at his home, after a 20-year battle with Parkinson's disease.

He was born June 5, 1950, in Chaffee, son of Merlin and Ann Brazeal Heeb. He and Brenda Eftink were married Aug. 8, 1987.

Dan was a graduate of Chaffee High School and Stanford University. He worked in various capacities in the computer industry as a development programmer, software engineer and senior instructor and authored several books on computers. He also worked as a compatibility analyst for Hitachi Data Systems.

He served as a member of the Missouri Newborn Hearing Screening Advisory Task Force. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and was a former Chaffee Library Board member.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Heeb; two sons, Alex and Jacob Heeb; three brothers, Larry Heeb of McFarland, Wisconsin, Tom Heeb of Columbia, Maryland, and Jay Heeb of Sunnyvale, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee.
