JACKSON -- Dan H. Frissell, 74, of Jackson, died Friday, March 10, 1995, at his home. He was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Chaffee, son of Sam and Lily Houghton Frissell. He and Venus G. Gisi were married May 21, 1942. Frissell received a degree in agriculture from the University of Missouri. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service 27 years, retiring in 1980. He also farmed in Cape Girardeau County...

JACKSON -- Dan H. Frissell, 74, of Jackson, died Friday, March 10, 1995, at his home.

He was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Chaffee, son of Sam and Lily Houghton Frissell. He and Venus G. Gisi were married May 21, 1942.

Frissell received a degree in agriculture from the University of Missouri. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service 27 years, retiring in 1980. He also farmed in Cape Girardeau County.

He served six years in the U.S. Navy, and was a captain aboard the USS Enterprise in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Naval Reserve 22 years.

Frissell was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Cape Girardeau, and Elks Lodge and VFW in Chaffee.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dr. Dan Frissell Jr. of Ste. Genevieve, Dr. Sam Frissell of Lebanon, Tenn., and a granddaughter.

There is no visitation.

A committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Brant Hazlett officiating.

Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
