EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Dalton D. Franks of East Prairie was held Monday at Shelby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. George White officiated, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park.
Franks, 78, died Saturday, April 3, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 18, 1914, in Dorsey, Miss., son of John and Nettie Edwards Franks. He and Bessie Evelyn Gilliam were married in 1951.
Franks was a retired welder from Continental Boiler in St. Louis. He moved here 12 years ago from St. Louis.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Franks of Mantachie, Miss., Don Franks of Fenton; a daughter, Janice Smith of Mantachie; a sister, Erma Cleveland of Fulton, Miss.; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
