SCOTT CITY -- Dallis Coonts, 66, of Scott City died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 11, 1932, in Mt. Judea, Ark., son of Tony Argus-Howard and Willa Mae Busby Coonts. He and Nedra Dolly Brant were married Dec. 20, 1953, at Clarkton.
Coonts was a truck driver 31 years with Rhodes Oil Co., retiring in 1997. He moved to Scott City 34 years ago from Gideon.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny Coonts of Scott City; three daughters, Jane Braun of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Linda Coonts of Ste. Genevieve, Anna Coonts of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Argus Coonts of Morehouse, Amos Coonts of Cape Girardeau, Jimmy Coonts of Flagstaff, Ariz.; two sisters, Alice Coleman of St. Louis, Alta Clements of Plato; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 2-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
