FRIEDHEIM -- Dale D. Turner, 61, of Friedheim, died Tuesday, June 25, 1996, at his home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1935, in Wolf Lake, Ill., son of Herbert and Nellie Zimmerman Turner. She married Artie M. Drum were married Nov. 16, 1979.
Turner retired from Chester Mental Health Center in Chester, Ill. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Millersville, Shriners of East St. Louis, VFW of Chester, American Legion and Amvets of Perryville. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Tammy Westerman, Tracey Cushman and Melanie Turner, all of Chester; two sons, Roy Turner of Chester, Keith Turner of Benton, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Wanda Pohlmann and Trudy Wright of Perryville; a stepson, Allen Zoellner of Friedheim; two brothers, D.L. Turner of Florida, Ted Turner of Michigan; three sisters, Cleta Thiel and Peggy Bowers of Friedheim, Kathryn King of Perryville; two grandchildren, and eight stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons and five brothers.
Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville from 4-9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30-9:30 a.m. The wake is tonight at 7, and the rosary at 9 a.m. Thursday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle. The Rev. Joseph Eilers will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
