BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Dale Strauser was born Monday, April 26, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Doyle and Ina Davis Strauser. Dale died Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, in Broken Arrow. He was 79 years of age. Dale graduated high school in Cape Girardeau and went on to receive his associate degree in business. He was a sergeant major in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War and three tours in the Vietnam War. Dale retired in 1986 after 28 years in military service...

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Dale Strauser was born Monday, April 26, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Doyle and Ina Davis Strauser. Dale died Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, in Broken Arrow. He was 79 years of age.

Dale graduated high school in Cape Girardeau and went on to receive his associate degree in business. He was a sergeant major in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War and three tours in the Vietnam War. Dale retired in 1986 after 28 years in military service.

He married Carolyn Correll on Nov. 26, 1972, in a Cape Girardeau wedding ceremony. Their union was blessed with two daughters and one son. Dale enjoyed spending time with his family.

Dale is survived by his wife, Carolyn Strauser of Broken Arrow; children, Teresa (Rick) Jackson of Broken Arrow, Renee Vaughn of Kansas and Jeff Strauser of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Nick (Jennifer) Jackson, Colin (Mallory) Vaughn, Nathan Jackson and Victoria Jackson; great-grandchildren, Hunter Jackson and Quinton Graybill; and a great-granddaughter on the way; a sister, Jeannie (Carmon) Collier of Scott City; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family.

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Strauser; mother, Ina Vetter; brother, DeWayne Strauser; and sister, Doylene Herzinger.

Private family services honoring the life of Dale Strauser will be held at a later date.
