Dale F. Kester, 76, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at his home after a brief illness, with his loving family at his bedside.

He was called from his earthly home to his heavenly home to be with all the saints called before him. By the grace of God in Jesus Christ, this guarantee was known to Dale.

He was born Aug. 13, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, son of William Christian and Ada L. Moeller Kester. He and Nancy Ann Marr were married Aug. 31, 1963.

Dale retired from Colgate-Palmolive in 1993. He served many years representing the city of Cape Girardeau on the University of Missouri Extension Council and also the Regional Council. Dale was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, where he served as chairman of the church, and also on many of the church boards. He also served on the Board of Reconcilers for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; two sons, Kevin and family, and Gary and family.

A memorial service of praise and thanksgiving will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Douglas C. Breite officiating.

A gathering of friends and family will follow in the fellowship hall.

Cremation will be accorded by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran School, Saxony Lutheran High School or Southeast Hospice.
