Dale Dodson

Dale Gordon Dodson Sr., 50, of Thebes, Ill., died Friday, June 13, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Nov. 8, 1957, in Anna, Ill., son of Raymond and Noma Sanders Dodson. He and Sheila Lesar were married March 20, 1976, in Thebes.

He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Ill. He worked on a riverboat 22 years and most recently was employed by Raben Tire.

He is survived by wife Sheila Dodson of Thebes; parents of Thebes; son, Dale "DJ" Dodson and his wife, Talina, of Thebes; daughter, Starla Sissom and husband Jason of Olive Branch; four brothers, Mike, Roger and Kenneth Dodson of Thebes, Frank Dodson of Fayville, Ill.; and six grandchildren, Alexis Sissom, Jasi Sissom, Jimmy Sissom, Dannie Dodson, Aizlyn Dodson, Tye Dodson.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Ernest Brown and Curtis Alderson officiating.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
