PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Dale W. Brown, 53, of Russellville, Ark., formerly of Perryville, died Friday, April 20, 2007, at his home. PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Dale W. Brown, 53, of Russellville, Ark., formerly of Perryville, died Friday, April 20, 2007, at his home.

He was born Oct. 23, 1953, at St. Clair, Mo., son of Melvin R. and Thelma Fassold Brown. He married Connie Minks.

He graduated from Russellville High School in 1972, and Arkansas Tech University in 1976 where he served as student government president and was a founding member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.

Brown was vice president of sales at Taber Extrusions in Russellville, and was a public accountant many years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Russellville.

He previously served on the Arkansas Tech University Board of Trustees, and was a former member of the Russellville Civil Service Commission. He was chairman of the Pope County Election Commission; a former justice of the peace on the Pope County Quorum Court, where he was instrumental in obtaining the first rescue unit for the Pope County Ambulance Service.

He was a former Pope County 911 board member, former Pope County coroner, former chairman of Pope County Democratic Party, a former member and past president of Rotary and was a Paul Harris Fellow.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Brenna Brown; two sons, Kit Brown of Rogers, Ark., Dale Brown II of Fayetteville; and a brother, Roger Brown of Dardanelle, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister and a brother.

The funeral was held Monday at First United Methodist Church in Russellville, with the Rev. Mackey Yokem officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Shinn Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
