SIKESTON -- Daisy Mae Thompson, 82, of Sikeston died Monday, Feb. 5, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 29, 1913, at East Prairie, daughter of John L. and Ethel G. Woods Buttery. She married Cecil "Bud" Shell on Jan. 11, 1930, at Matthews. He died Aug. 3, 1952. She later married Willie "Bill" Thompson on Dec. 19, 1953, at Sikeston. He died Feb. 6, 1964.
Thompson was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sikeston. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse at the Missouri Delta Medical Center for 36 years. She retired in 1977 but continued to do private duty nursing in the area.
Survivors are a son, David E. Shell of Sikeston; a stepson, Melvin Thompson of Primm Springs, Tenn., two stepdaughters, Margaret Fudge and Maxine Shell, both of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Emma Cade of East Prairie and Marie Rae of Benton; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bryan Davis officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery in Matthews.
