SCOTT CITY Cyrilla R. Blattel, 71 years old, of Scott City, died at 9:42 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 1990, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 4, 1919, at New Hamburg, daughter of Leo J. and Emeline Urhahn Menz. Her mother, of New Hamburg, survives.

She married Paul C. Blattel Aug. 9, 1941, at New Hamburg. He also survives.

She worked for 22 years at Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Parish at New Hamburg and its St. Ann Sodality.

Other survivors are a son, John L. Blattel, Jefferson City; a daughter, Mary Ann Stricker, Charleston; a brother, Cletus Menz, New Hamburg; sisters, Arabella Kluesner and Marie Glueck, both of New Hamburg; and six grandchildren.

A brother and a sister preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The parish rosary will be recited at 7 tonight at the funeral chapel.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church by the Rev. Alois Stevens. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
