C.W. McEndree, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

He was born May 17, 1916, in Xenia, Ill., son of Lewis and Alma Johnson McEndree. He and Melva Maurine Kerr were married Aug. 25, 1943, in Brookport, Ill.

McEndree was a salesman with CORNO and Nutrena Feeds more than 30 years. He was a member and elder of the Church of Christ.

He served in the U.S. Navy from Nov. 11, 1942, to Dec. 21, 1945.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael McEndree of Minnetonka, Minn.; a daughter, Maureen Ottenlips of Town and Country, Mo.; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Dr. Ralph Nance and David Bragg will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Memorial Gardens in Metropolis, Ill., with military rites by the American Legion Post in Metropolis.
