ANNA, Ill. -- Curtis M. Caraker, 75, of Anna, died Friday, Oct. 20, 1995, at his home. He was born May 20, 1920, at Cobden, Ill., the son of Everett Brady and Martha J. Smith Caraker. He was a veteran of World War II, a life member of Anna VFW Post 3455, and a member of the Hi-Neighbors Square Dance Club at Carbondale, Ill. ANNA, Ill. -- Curtis M. Caraker, 75, of Anna, died Friday, Oct. 20, 1995, at his home.

He was born May 20, 1920, at Cobden, Ill., the son of Everett Brady and Martha J. Smith Caraker.

He was a veteran of World War II, a life member of Anna VFW Post 3455, and a member of the Hi-Neighbors Square Dance Club at Carbondale, Ill. He retired as a mental health specialist from Choate Mental Health Center.

He and Helen Kirkpatrick were married April 14, 1943, at Orlando, Fla.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob Caraker of Anna; two daughters, Donna Sadler of Anna and Glenda Koeller of Winslow, Ill.; three sisters, Zelma Yates of Lake of Egypt, Ill., and Helen Garner and Lavada Henderson, both of Anna; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. DeWayne Taylor will officiate, with burial in the Anna Cemetery with full military honors by the Anna VFW post.
