DEXTER, Mo. -- Curtis R. Lape, 94, of Dexter died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Sept. 14, 1915, the son of the late Cooper and Ida McKinney Lape. On March 2, 1946, he was united in marriage to Imogene Blevins in Piggott, Ark.

Lape was a farmer for many years in Stoddard and New Madrid counties. He had also worked for the department of agriculture from 1966 until 1977.

Survivors include his wife of Dexter; a son, Tony Lape of Jackson; two daughters, June Aycock of Dexter and Connie Lape of Cape Girardeau; a brother, D.K. Lape of Sikeston, Mo.; five grandchildren, Wes Aycock, Neil Aycock, Whitney Brothers, Meredith Lape and Ian Lape; and three great-grandchildren, Eli Aycock, Landon Aycock and Balin Brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
